I just wanted to thank you so much for such a fabulous evening at our wedding at Winchester House, Putney on 13th September. You exceeded every expectation and managed to pack so much life and enjoyment into the evening despite the late start. I hadn't imagined that so many people would want to dance and you coped brilliantly - there were family and friends dancing that have never been seen anywhere near a dance floor before. All the messages from our guests have said how much they enjoyed the music and dancing. We had a number of folk fiddlers and ceilidh veterans in the crowd so consider that praise indeed. I just want to say thank you so much for the wonderful music played by Blackthorn at mine and Ronan's wedding. I was in a dream all morning...until I entered the building and then it suddenly all became real when I heard the music being played. It was perfect! I remember saying 'the band are here! and they're playing!' I don't know why - as I hadn't thought you wouldn't turn up - but it just suddenly dawned on me that it was actually the wedding day and all my preparations had come together. The music outside was so lovely too and completed the beautiful (yet surreal) setting that we were in. (felt like I was on a film set of a period drama with the music and people all dressed up and playing croquet!). I am just sorry that I didn't have a chance to stop and listen to the music properly - we were being whisked off here there and everywhere and it was all a bit of a whirlwind - but we heard you playing in the background throughout and the atmosphere in the walled garden was better than I could ever have imagined. Everybody else has commented that the music was wonderful and added an extra special touch that many weddings lack. I am so pleased that you came to play at our wedding and cannot thank you enough for helping to make our day so special. I am sorry that we didn't get a chance to speak to any of the band members on the day - I wanted to say thank you in person and let you know how appreciative we were, but we were whisked off before we had a chance. ........Many thanks once again for everything! Words are not enough!"
